Description
The 12G-AMA-T is a compact 4-channel balanced analog audio embedder and disembedder designed for 12G-SDI signals up to 4K/UltraHD. It provides always-on analog audio disembedding and selectable embedding per channel pair. The unit ships with an LC fiber transmitter SFP for long-distance 12G-SDI signal extension.
It supports up to 16 channels of embedded audio and provides four balanced analog inputs and four balanced analog outputs via the supplied XLR breakout cable. Analog audio levels are selectable via software, and incoming embedded audio can be passed, removed, or overridden. The converter auto-detects the input video standard for plug-and-play operation.
Video support includes 4K, UltraHD, 2K, HD, and SD formats at standard frame rates and supports RGB and YCbCr in 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 at 10-bit. Fiber output is a single LC connector with nominal wavelengths in the 1260-1360 nm range and optical power between -5 dBm and 0.5 dBm. Cable equalization for coax is specified for Belden 1694A at distances up to 405m depending on rate.
Connectivity includes 1x 12G-SDI input BNC, 1x 12G-SDI output BNC, 1x 12G-SDI LC fiber output, and a 25-pin D connector for balanced analog audio I/O with a supplied XLR breakout. USB configuration is supported via AJA Mini-Config and device settings are also available via external DIP switches. Power is +5-16 VDC and the unit ships with a universal power supply.
Typical applications include broadcast signal chains, OB vans, live events, and production facilities that require embedding or extracting analog lines into SDI workflows and extending signals over fiber. The small form factor and locking power connector make it suitable for rack, behind-monitor, or camera-rail mounting. It supports audio workflows requiring precise analog/digital level control and low latency audio paths.
Setup and operation are straightforward using Mini-Config software or DIP switches for basic selection of embedding and analog levels. The breakout cable provides convenient XLR connectivity for four analog inputs and four analog outputs. The unit is backed by a five year warranty and is built for continuous professional use in controlled studio and field environments.
