Description
The ONErack 5RU Basic Kit is a powered rack mounting chassis designed to convert small externally powered devices into clean slide-in modules for rack installation. It provides a compact 5RU enclosure populated with six mounting modules and supports up to 16 modules total when expanded. The system simplifies rack organization and reduces installation time for mixed-brand equipment.
Key features include universal mounting compatibility, modular slide-in slots, and adjustable DC power selectors that deliver seven voltage options per selector. Each module can accept up to two voltage selectors and the system supports multiple devices powered from a single supply. Active fan cooling supports high density module installations to maintain thermal stability.
Technical capabilities include voltage selector options at 5V, 7.5V, 9V, 12V, 13.5V, 18V, and 24V with up to 35 watts per selector. The 5RU chassis ships with six modules installed and can be expanded to hold up to 16 modules using additional rails. Optional power supplies include a single 250W unit or a dual-redundant 450W configuration to meet higher power requirements.
Connectivity and compatibility emphasize universal mechanical mounting and pass-thru power options for custom powering schemes. The chassis accepts externally powered devices from any manufacturer and provides easy access for service and cable routing. Covers and cable management accessories are available including fan covers, metal and plexi blanks, and an integrated cable management system.
Practical applications include consolidating small AV devices in broadcast racks, powering multiple monitoring or signal conversion modules in centralized installations, and simplifying field service for rental and staging environments. The ONErack design reduces setup and teardown time while keeping cable and power arrangements consistent across systems. It is suited to both permanent installations and mobile rack configurations.
Installation is straightforward – modules slide into the chassis rails and power selectors are set per module to match device requirements. The chassis is built for rack-mount durability with active cooling to support dense module populations and optional redundant PSU configurations for mission critical systems. Serviceability is improved through tool-less access to modules and clearly labeled voltage settings for fast maintenance.
