Description
The AdderLink DV120 transmitter is a compact DVI extender transmitter designed to separate source hardware from display locations while maintaining full digital video fidelity. It transmits uncompressed DVI video up to 1920×1200 at 60Hz and preserves pixel accuracy across a single CATx cable. The unit is USB powered and intended to keep media playback hardware in secure and climate controlled areas while the display remains local.
Key features include pixel perfect digital video, EDID management, and plug and play operation to simplify deployment. The transmitter supports zero loss uncompressed video and mirrors the exact content seen on the source monitor. It also harvests power from a standard USB port to reduce power infrastructure and eliminate external power supplies in many installations.
Performance supports resolutions up to WUXGA 1920×1200 at 60Hz with 24 bit color depth and reduced blanking when required. The system can distribute video and power over a single CATx cable to a maximum tested distance of 50m depending on cable type and patch connections. Latency is negligible due to the uncompressed transport, ensuring a consistent user experience.
Connectivity comprises a DVI-D male transmitter plug and a USB type A pigtail for power only. The remote receiver attaches to displays via a DVI-D male connector and expects shielded CAT6a or CAT7 cabling for optimal signal integrity. The extender is compatible with any computer that provides DVI-D and USB connections and works without drivers on standard operating systems.
Typical applications include digital signage installations, secure server room to display deployments, control room displays, and kiosk systems where hardware needs to be isolated from the viewing environment. The transmitter is especially useful where exact pixel reproduction is required or where ambient conditions at the display point are unsuitable for sensitive hardware. It also suits environments that require simple zero configuration operation.
Installation is straightforward – plug the DVI transmitter into the source, connect the USB power pigtail, and run shielded CATx to the receiver. The unit ships preconfigured for plug and play operation and manages EDID to ensure the remote system mirrors the source display. The compact ABS enclosure and durable connectors make it suitable for tight spaces and repeated connections.
