Description
The Atlona AT-DRC444 is a multi-input presentation switcher designed to consolidate DVI, HDMI, VGA and composite video sources into a single rackmount 1U unit. It provides simultaneous, independent switching across three distinct video platforms and includes integrated audio switching for each video input. The unit is intended for integration into classroom, corporate and house-of-worship AV systems where multiple legacy and digital sources must be managed.
The DRC444 features three separate switching platforms: a 2xDVI/2xHDMI to one DVI output platform, a 4×1 VGA platform and a 4×1 composite video platform. Each video input includes a dedicated audio input, delivering a total of 12 stereo line inputs plus a microphone input that can be mixed in talk-over mode. Control options include RS-232 input, a programmable RS-232/RS-485 output and an IR remote for local control.
On the digital side the DVI/HDMI inputs support resolutions up to 1920×1200 and are fully EDID and HDCP compliant while passing up to 10.2Gbps. The VGA platform supports very high bandwidths up to 750MHz enabling resolutions up to 3200×2400 at 60Hz with full DDC support. Composite inputs accept NTSC 3.58, NTSC 4.42, PAL and SECAM formats, and switching occurs at sub-microsecond speed to minimize transition delays.
Connectivity is comprehensive with multiple connector types: DVI-D, HDMI Type A, HD15 VGA and BNC composite video for inputs and outputs, plus 3.5mm and captive screw audio connectors and a 1/4-inch mic jack. Each audio input supports independent adjustment and presets to match source levels and room acoustics, and audio frequency response spans 20Hz to 20kHz. Outputs include stereo line outputs plus a programmable audio output to feed amplifiers or downstream processors.
The DRC444 is well suited to classrooms, boardrooms, lecture halls and places of worship where multiple presenters and source types are common. It simplifies source selection while preserving native resolutions and HDCP protected content when required. The built-in mic talk-over function lets instructors or presenters inject voice announcements or narration over existing program audio without external mixing hardware.
Installation is straightforward in a standard 19-inch rack at 1U height and the unit accepts 100-240VAC 50/60Hz power. Control integration is supported through RS-232 and RS-485 programmable outputs to send commands to displays, and IR control is provided for local operation. The DRC444 is built to integrate cleanly into AV systems and to reduce signal management complexity while maintaining signal integrity.
