Description
The Atlona GAIN-M50-LZ is a two-input mixer amplifier designed to deliver low-impedance audio for classrooms and commercial spaces. It provides either two channels of 25 watts into 4 or 8 ohm speakers or a bridged single channel of 50 watts. The compact, plenum-rated chassis allows flexible installation above ceilings or behind displays.
The unit mixes two unbalanced line-level inputs with independent level controls and provides ducking to lower program audio when a microphone signal is present. PA sense and trigger mute allow announcements to override program audio for clear communication. Front panel controls plus RS-232 and an optional wallplate give multiple control options.
Audio performance is managed by a Class D amplifier with a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and low THD+N figures. Crosstalk is specified at -80 dB and IMD is under 1% across the stated band. The amplifier supports an unbalanced loop output for assistive listening or secondary amplification.
Connectivity includes dual RCA and a 3.5 mm stereo input, a 3.5 mm loop output, a 4-pin lock-down screw speaker output, RS-232 captive screw ports, trigger and PA sense connections, a USB type C hub port, and a 24 VDC power input. The unit is Energy Star qualified and supports two standby modes to reduce power draw. External universal power supply provides 24 V / 3 A DC to the device.
Typical applications include classrooms where program audio must lower when instructors speak, meeting rooms where AV sources feed room speakers, and plenum installations above drop ceilings to conceal equipment. The ducking and PA mute features preserve intelligibility of announcements and speech. Loop output supports assistive listening systems to meet accessibility needs.
Installation is straightforward with included mounting brackets, captive screw connectors, and a compact footprint for under-desk or in-ceiling mounting. Front panel LEDs indicate power, input and output status and PA sense. The robust build and plenum rating meet common commercial and educational installation standards.
