Description
The AT-IR-CS-RX is an IR receiver cable designed to extend IR control capability for PoE extender installations. It provides a compact IR sensor and a 3-pin stripped cable that integrates with standard 12V DC control systems. The receiver is intended to be placed near displays or screens where operators point IR remotes.
The cable uses a 3-pin conductor layout carrying signal, ground, and power and features striped stripped ends for fast termination to captive-screw connectors. A red status LED provides immediate visual confirmation when the receiver detects an IR command. The cable includes a self-adhesive backing for secure mounting to flat surfaces.
Technically, the receiver operates across a 30 to 60 kHz frequency range and has an on-axis operational distance up to 10 m under ideal conditions. The reception angle is +/- 45 degrees off axis, which supports reliable capture of handheld remotes in typical AV room layouts. Power requirements are 12V DC with a nominal current draw of 20 mA and a signal level of approximately 10.8V.
Connectivity is simple and direct: the three stripped conductors connect to compatible captive-screw ports on supported Atlona extenders or third-party control interfaces. The cable is 6.6 ft (2 m) long, allowing placement flexibility near displays and screens while maintaining tidy cable runs. The receiver is compatible with Atlona UHD-EX series extenders and other 12V-based IR systems that accept open-wire 3-pin inputs.
This IR receiver cable is suitable for boardrooms, classrooms, and digital signage installations where remote control IR signals need to be captured at the display location. It is effective for consolidating remote control in distributed AV systems and for extending remote control reach to endpoints. The red LED and compact footprint make it easy to confirm operation and unobtrusively place the receiver in public-facing spaces.
Installation is straightforward and requires no special tools beyond a screwdriver for captive-screw terminations. The adhesive backing simplifies placement and reduces the need for additional mounts, while the stripped ends accelerate wiring during integration. The cable and sensor housing are built for typical AV environment usage and support consistent IR capture when installed according to manufacturer guidelines.
