The Atlona AT-OME-MS42 is a 4×2 matrix switcher that accepts HDMI, USB-C, and DisplayPort inputs and provides HDMI and HDBaseT outputs. It is HDCP 2.2 compliant and supports 4K/UHD video up to 60 Hz. The unit integrates USB extension and audio de-embedding to support contemporary AV communications and collaboration systems.
The OME-MS42 offers HDBaseT extension of AV, control, Ethernet, and USB up to 330 ft / 100 m and supports HDMI data rates to 18 Gbps on its HDMI and local outputs. USB-C input delivers AV, device data, and up to 60W power charging for compatible laptops and tablets. The matrix supports selectable switching modes and auto-input selection when outputs are mirrored or matrixed.
Video performance includes 4K/UHD at up to 4096×2160@60 and 3840×2160@60, support for 4:4:4 chroma, 8-bit through 12-bit color depth, and HDR formats HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision on HDMI and USB-C inputs. The HDMI output can downscale 4K to 1080p at 60, 30, or 24 Hz when connected to HD sinks. Audio pass-through covers PCM, Dolby Digital family, DTS family, and the unit provides an analog balanced 2-channel de-embedded output with high SNR and low THD+N.
Connectivity includes two HDMI inputs, one DisplayPort input, one USB-C input, one HDMI output, one HDBaseT output, two USB-A hub ports, two USB-B host ports, RS-232 captive screw, LAN 100Base-T, and a 5-pin captive screw balanced audio output. Remote PoE+ is supported from compatible OME-EX-RX or OME-SR21 receivers or the unit can be locally powered by the optional AT-PS-2427-D4 power supply. Control options include front-panel buttons, web GUI, RS-232, IP, and CEC signaling.
The AT-OME-MS42 is well suited to meeting rooms, boardrooms, classrooms, and collaborative spaces where mixed-host sources and USB device extension are required. It enables clean single-cable USB-C connections for presenters and accommodates dedicated host PCs via USB 2.0 host ports. The integrated downscaling and audio extraction simplify integration with legacy HD displays and external audio systems.
Installation is straightforward using the front-panel controls or the web-based configuration interface, and automatic display control manages display power state via IP, RS-232, or CEC. The chassis measures 1.73 x 8.64 x 10 inches and integrates into AV racks or furniture using standard mounting accessories.
