Description
The AT-OMNI-311 is a USB to IP host adapter that extends a computer USB host connection over a Gigabit Ethernet network. It pairs with remote OmniStream USB hub endpoints to present connected peripherals to a local PC as native USB devices. The unit supports USB 2.0 data rates and integrates into networked AV topologies.
Key features include support for USB 2.0 up to 480 Mbps, a single Type B host port, and a shielded RJ45 Gigabit LAN port for transport over CAT5e/6 cable. The AT-OMNI-311 can be paired to multiple remote hubs simultaneously – up to seven OmniStream 324 units – enabling distribution of multiple USB devices on the same network. Front-panel LEDs provide status for power, link, host and signal presence.
Performance and technical details are optimized for meeting room peripherals and cameras, supporting USB HID class devices and high-bandwidth devices such as cameras and speakerphones. The adapter is powered directly by the USB host and requires no separate power supply. It occupies a low-profile 1.04 inch high enclosure and includes surface mounting brackets for flexible placement.
Connectivity is straightforward: a single Type B USB host connector links to the PC while the shielded RJ45 Gigabit port carries USB over IP across standard Ethernet. The device is compatible with Atlona Management System (AMS) 2.0 for USB routing and can integrate with AtlonaVelocity control systems. It is recommended for use on properly configured managed switches and Atlona Certified Switch lists to ensure predictable performance.
Typical applications include huddle rooms where a PTZ camera and speakerphone need to appear as local USB devices to conferencing software, and meeting rooms where wall-mounted touch displays or USB audio devices must connect to a presenter laptop. The OMNI-311 simplifies AV system design by separating USB endpoints from the host location and consolidating USB devices on the network. It supports cable runs up to 330 ft / 100 m per Ethernet hop.
Installation and operation are designed for AV integrators and IT staff: the unit ships with mounting brackets and an installation guide, and uses a simple recessed pairing button for endpoint association. The compact metal enclosure and LED indicators aid troubleshooting and system deployment. An industry-leading 10 year limited product warranty provides long-term support and confidence in system reliability.
