Description
The USB-EX350-KIT is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 data extender kit designed to extend high-speed USB connections up to 330 ft (100 m) over a single Category 6A U/FTP cable. It provides data-only extension for computers and AV hosts to remote peripherals without signal degradation. The kit supports both modern USB 3.2 Gen 1 bandwidths and legacy USB 2.0 devices to accommodate mixed AV environments.
Key features include support for USB 3.2 Gen 1 data rates up to 5 Gbps and USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps, a USB-C host interface, and downstream connectivity comprising three USB-A ports and one USB-C port. Each downstream port supplies up to 1.5 A and a combined 3.2 A total from the device endpoint, enabling powered operation of cameras, conferencing bars, microphones, and other peripherals. The kit also supports bidirectional remote power so the included power supply can be attached to either endpoint.
Performance is optimized for point-to-point USB extension up to 330 ft / 100 m using a single Category 6A U/FTP cable. The system is data-only and maintains high throughput for bandwidth-intensive USB peripherals such as 4K cameras and high-resolution capture devices. The extender supports simultaneous operation of USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 devices without manual switching.
Connectivity options include a USB-C host port, three USB-A and one USB-C device ports at the remote endpoint, and an RJ45 LAN port on the host endpoint for configuration and monitoring. The LAN interface enables VBUS configuration per port, firmware updates, power and connection monitoring, and IP to RS-232 translation for bi-directional serial control. The end-to-end connection is established over standard Category 6A cabling for easy integration into existing infrastructure.
Typical applications include video conferencing, remote instruction, and AV installations where high-rate USB peripherals must be located away from host systems. The extender is suitable for connecting remote 4K cameras, conferencing bars, microphones, and speakers located up to 330 ft from a host laptop or room computer. It supports professional AV workflows by preserving USB bandwidth and providing networked management features.
Installation is straightforward using compact, mountable enclosures that can be placed in furniture, behind displays, or above projectors. The kit includes a power supply and a short USB cable for host connection, and supports firmware updates through the LAN port to maintain long-term compatibility. The design emphasizes dependable data extension, easy monitoring, and flexible power options to simplify deployment and maintenance.
