Description
The AV-NH1 is a compact network headphone amplifier that converts two Dante network audio channels to a stereo headphone output. It provides front-panel level adjustment and professional analog filtering for clean monitoring. The unit is engineered for studio and live environments where low noise and accurate reproduction are required.
Key features include dual-channel Dante input, selectable sample rates up to 96 kHz, a high-resolution 24-bit DAC, and both 3.5 mm mini and 1/4 inch outputs. The front-panel rotary control offers real-time level adjustment and a front LED indicates valid power and Dante sync. The AV-NH1 requires no special setup software to map channels once connected to a Dante network.
Performance specifications support 24-bit audio at 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, and 96 kHz sample rates. The frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz within ±0.5 dB and typical THD+N is 0.015% at 1 kHz. Noise and crosstalk specifications deliver studio-quality monitoring with noise below -75 dB at specified levels and crosstalk under -80 dB.
Connectivity is provided via a Neutrik etherCON RJ45 connector and compatible with Dante audio networks operating at 100 Mbps. Power options include PoE Class 0 IEEE 802.3af or an external 24 Vdc supply, and the unit will seamlessly switch to PoE if external power is lost. Rear-panel indicators show Ethernet link and speed while the front LED shows synchronization status.
The AV-NH1 is suited to broadcast, production, and live sound applications where local headphone monitoring from a Dante stream is required. Typical uses include studio cueing, field production headphone monitoring, and front-of-house or monitor engineer listening. Its compact footprint and professional audio performance make it effective for both portable rigs and fixed installs.
The enclosure is all-metal for durability in demanding environments and includes mounting brackets for fixed installation or optional microphone-stand mounting. The AV-NH1 reserves PoE power when external 24 Vdc is present and supports continuous duty operation. Installation is straightforward – plug into the Dante network, set channel routing in the Dante controller if needed, and adjust the front-panel level control.
