Description
The AV-NL2 is a two-channel Dante network audio receiver that converts networked digital audio to balanced analog outputs. It accepts two Dante channels and delivers two male XLR balanced outputs at professional line level. The module is engineered for studio quality fidelity and low noise performance.
Key features include selectable sample rates up to 96 kHz and 24-bit digital-to-analog conversion for high resolution audio. Each output provides +4 dBu nominal at a network digital level of -20 dBFS and offers a Mic/Line selector that attenuates the output by 50 dB to mic level. Outputs are protected against phantom voltage up to 48 Vdc and each channel includes RDL analog filtering to maintain excellent audio quality.
Performance metrics include 20 dB of headroom above nominal level, frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (±0.5 dB), and very low distortion and noise figures. Typical THD+N is 0.015% at 1 kHz and below 0.1% across the audio band at nominal levels. Noise is specified below -75 dB referenced to +4 dBu and below -95 dB referenced to +24 dBu.
Connectivity includes an RJ45 network port with link and speed indicators and two male XLR outputs for balanced analog audio. The AV-NL2 supports Dante network sync and reserves PoE power even when an external 24 Vdc supply is present. Power options include PoE Class 0 IEEE 802.3af operation or an external 24 Vdc supply, and a front panel LED indicates valid power and network sync.
The AV-NL2 fits a range of practical applications including live sound signal distribution, broadcast feed conversion, and studio or rack installations that require reliable Dante to analog conversion. It is suitable for providing analog feeds to mixers, amplifiers, and recorders from a Dante network. The selectable mic/line outputs make it useful where both line-level and mic-level feeds are required.
Installation is straightforward and the unit ships in a compact all-metal enclosure suitable for stage or studio use. Surface mounting brackets are included for fixed installations and the chassis protects front-panel slide switches from accidental damage. The AV-NL2 is built for continuous duty in demanding installations and requires no special software for basic configuration.
