Description
The CI120 is a dual 5.25 inch three-way in-wall speaker engineered to deliver clear, full-range audio for residential installations. It combines pivoting tweeter and midrange domes with dual woofers to produce defined imaging and extended low-frequency response. The concealed white powder-coated grille is paintable to match room decor and the overall assembly is designed for flush in-wall mounting.
Key features include pivoting woven synthetic soft dome tweeter and 1.5 inch midrange with Unicell Acoustic treatment to reduce wall interaction and improve clarity. The two RPF flat-piston 5.25 inch woofers use Kevlar composite cones and NBR surrounds to control bass and maintain linear response. Phase Technology’s Positive Clamping System secures the unit to the wall and optimizes low-end performance.
Performance specifications include a frequency response of 55 Hz to 22 kHz and a sensitivity of 90 dB at 1W/1M, providing efficient output for a wide range of amplifiers. The speaker is nominally 4 Ohm and is specified for 20 to 200 W recommended amplifier power, making it suitable for both music and home theater playback. The internal 2-way Absolute Phase crossover maintains coherent phase response across the band.
Connectivity follows standard in-wall speaker wiring practices and the CI120 is compatible with most residential amplifiers and processors that support 4 Ohm loads. The shallow 3.75 in mounting depth enables installation in shared walls and other constrained cavities. Cutout dimensions and mounting hardware are provided to simplify integration into existing construction.
Typical applications include in-wall left/right or surround channels in home theaters, multi-room audio zones, and high-fidelity listening areas where unobtrusive installation is required. The speaker’s pivoting driver assembly allows aiming of the midrange and high frequencies toward the listening position for improved imaging. The paintable grille and low-profile frame help the speaker blend into finished interiors.
Installation and build quality focus on reliable long-term performance and clean integration. The extruded aluminum Positive Clamping System provides secure, repeatable mounting and the galvanized steel grille resists corrosion while allowing paint adhesion. Overall, the CI120 balances refined imaging, robust low-end control, and installation-friendly dimensions for in-wall audio projects.
