Description
The CI150 is an in-wall LCR speaker designed to reproduce left, right and center front channels from two discreet enclosures. It combines dual drivers and dual tweeters per cabinet plus a passive radiator to create a centered sound image while minimizing visible hardware. The design delivers a wide soundstage and center collapse that mimics a dedicated center channel speaker.
Key features include patented triple 5.25 in tri-laminate flat-piston woofers made from Kevlar RPF and glass fiber, dual 1 in variable-axis soft dome tweeters with Unicell acoustic treatment, and an Absolute Phase crossover network. The lower portion of each cabinet operates as a mono center channel fed the same center mix for precise imaging. The CI150 eliminates the need for a separate center speaker and keeps a low profile in finished walls.
Performance specifications include a frequency response of 70 Hz – 22 kHz, 90 dB sensitivity (1W/1M), and a nominal impedance of 4 Ohm. The speaker is rated for recommended amplifier power of 15 – 200 W and uses a 2-way crossover topology. A passive radiator configuration augments bass output without deep enclosure volume.
Installation options are flexible – proprietary mounting hardware is included for both on-wall and flush in-wall installations and the grille is paintable to match interiors. The CI150 pairs with Premier Collection PC1.5 and PC33.5 electronics for matched voicing. The magnetic micro-flange grille and positive clamping system provide a tight nonresonant seal in finished installations.
Typical use cases include dedicated home theater front sound stages, discreet custom AV installations where a separate center is undesirable, and two-speaker three-channel front arrays in media rooms. The CI150 is suitable for new construction or retrofit applications that require a low-visibility multi-channel front stage. Its imaging characteristics make dialogue and on-screen localization coherent and stable.
Build quality targets reliable long-term operation – features include auto-reset overload protection, NBR surrounds on woofers, and a limited lifetime warranty. The cabinet depth and cutout dimensions are optimized for common in-wall framing standards to simplify installation. The combination of mechanical design and acoustic treatments ensures low diffraction and controlled on-axis/off-axis response.
