The speaker uses a 7in woven glass fiber woofer with NBR surround, a 1.5in synthetic soft dome midrange, and a 1in pivoting woven synthetic soft dome tweeter derived from Phase Technology’s Premier Collection. Its three-way Absolute Phase crossover maintains coherent phase response across the band to improve imaging and clarity. Patented QuikMount clamping levers simplify installation and replacement in standard rectangular cutouts.
Measured frequency response is 35 Hz – 22 kHz (+/- 3 dB) with a sensitivity of 92 dB at 1W/1M and a nominal impedance of 8 Ohm. Recommended amplifier power ranges from 10 to 150 W taking advantage of the speaker’s 3-way topology for clean dynamics and low distortion. The design balances low-frequency extension with midrange detail and controlled high-frequency dispersion.
The CI70X presents standard speaker connections compatible with most residential and professional amplifiers and receivers due to its 8 Ohm nominal load. It is suitable for retrofit projects and new construction when paired with the available pre-construction bracket RB-23. Installation is straightforward thanks to the QuikMount clamping lever system and shallow mounting depth. The grille is paintable and the pivoting tweeter simplifies aiming during final system setup.
