Description
The CLS-AOCU32/AC is a long-reach USB 3.2 Gen2 data cable designed to extend USB-A hosts to USB-C devices over long distances. It delivers up to 10Gbps throughput when connected to USB 3.2 hosts and devices, and combines optical and copper elements to preserve signal integrity across 131ft. This cable is intended for data transfer only and does not support charging or ALT Mode signals.
Key features include hybrid fiber and copper construction, USB 3.2 Gen2 SuperSpeed+ data rates up to 10Gbps, and plug-and-play operation without additional drivers. The cable supports backward compatibility with legacy USB versions including USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and USB 1.1 (USB 1.1 supported up to 50ft). It draws minimal power from the host and is intended to work with self-powered remote devices when necessary.
Technical performance is driven by a 2-channel OM2 850 nm VCSEL array combined with bare copper conductors to carry required signals and power. The cable consumes <=0.5W, supports long- and short-term mechanical stresses, and maintains a minimum bending radius of 20mm. Environmental ratings include operating temperature range -20 to 50C and storage range -40 to 70C.
Connectivity is provided by a USB 3.2 Type-A male connector on the host end and a USB 3.2 Type-C male connector on the device end. The product is compatible with USB cameras, printers, webcams, speakerphones and other USB peripherals that accept a USB-C connection. Remote devices are recommended to be self-powered when using longer lengths.
Typical applications include extending USB camera and AV peripherals across meeting rooms, connecting USB-based capture devices in studio environments, and linking remote USB accessories in broadcast workflows. The cable is suited to installations where shielded copper alone cannot reliably carry high-speed USB over long distances.
Installation is straightforward – the cable is plug-and-play and draws power from the USB source of the host device. The jacket and mechanical ratings provide resistance to crush and tensile stresses encountered in installed runs, and the cable meets CE and FCC safety standards as well as REACH and RoHS environmental compliance. CPR Eca and LSHF flammability ratings are included for regulated installations.
