Description
The CM800i is an 8in coaxial in-ceiling speaker designed to deliver clear, wide-coverage sound for commercial and residential ceiling installations. It combines an 8.0in polypropylene woofer and a 1.0in convex titanium tweeter mounted on a cast-aluminum baffle to provide consistent tonal balance across the listening area. The speaker supports both low-impedance and distributed-line systems offering installation flexibility.
Key features include SoundTube BroadBeam waveguide technology that provides consistent dispersion between 2 and 10 kHz and a six-position tap selector for 25/70.7/100-volt systems plus a transformer bypass position. The driver configuration uses FerroFluid cooling on the tweeter and a large voice coil on the woofer to sustain high output and reliable operation. A steel powder-coated grille and removable magnetic bezel allow in-field painting and long-term durability.
Performance specifications include a measured sensitivity of 90 dB at 2.83 V/1 m, frequency response of 97 Hz to 22 kHz (-3 dB) and extended response to 71 Hz at -10 dB. Power handling is rated at 125 W RMS continuous and 250 W program, with a maximum SPL of 111 dB at 1 m. Coverage is designed to average 120 degrees across 2 to 10 kHz to maximize coverage area per speaker.
Connectivity is provided via a four-pin 5.08 mm Euroblock that supports individual or daisy-chain wiring. The six-position rotary tap switch permits easy selection of transformer taps or direct low-impedance drive via the bypass. The package includes a tile bridge, conduit plate, Euroblock connector and paint mask to assist common installation requirements.
The CM800i is suitable for retail zones, hospitality spaces, conference rooms and houses of worship where broad, even coverage and speech intelligibility are required. The BroadBeam waveguide and coaxial design maintain consistent tonal balance off-axis which reduces the number of speakers required to cover an area. UL 1480 and 2043 approvals make it appropriate for many regulated installations.
Installers benefit from the rapid-install blind-mount fixed-wing mounting mechanism that secures to ceiling thicknesses from 6.4 mm to 48.5 mm without special tools. A cast-aluminum motor-board and drawn-aluminum backcan provide thermal mass and durability for long service life. The CM800i provides a balance of easy installation, reliable performance and coverage control in a low-profile ceiling speaker.
