Description
The D-RC4M is a compact 4-channel remote source selector designed to provide local or distributed source selection. The unit presents four momentary pushbuttons on the front panel, each mapped to a separate input. LEDs adjacent to each button indicate the currently selected source and the display intensity changes to reduce visual distraction when idle.
Key features include single-button selection for each source and LED confirmation of selection status. The control supports single-location and multi-location installations – up to ten remote control locations may be wired in parallel. The display brightens during user interaction and returns to a dim intensity when idle to minimize visual impact.
Technically, the D-RC4M uses momentary pushbuttons and green LED indicators for status. The control is ground-referenced and requires 24 Vdc at 30 mA, operating in ambient temperatures from 0 C to 55 C. The electronics are secured in a rear enclosure and the unit mounts in a standard US electrical box.
Connectivity is handled via a detachable rear terminal block that interfaces directly with RDL selector modules such as the RU-ASX4D and RU-ASX4DR. Remote wiring supports six conductors or UTP cable such as CAT5 or CAT6, allowing simple parallel wiring of multiple remotes. The D-RC4M draws power from the same supply used by the selector module.
This remote control is appropriate for system control points in boardrooms, classrooms, houses of worship, and AV distribution rooms. It provides a clear, tactile interface for source switching and LED confirmation that helps reduce user errors. Multiple remotes appear identical and can be installed at strategically distributed control points to give users source access across a facility.
Installation is straightforward: the control mounts in a standard US electrical box and connects to the selector module with the detachable terminal block. The steel frame and protected rear enclosure offer durable build quality for professional environments. The result is a low-profile, reliable control option for integrators specifying RDL source selection modules.
