Description
The D-RCS4 is a compact remote channel selector designed to provide source selection and visual indication for RDL control modules. It offers a single pushbutton that steps through four source channels and displays the active channel via LEDs. The unit is intended for use where centralized or distributed source selection and clear visual status are required.
Key features include a momentary pushbutton that sends a stepping signal to compatible RDL modules, LED indication for each channel and a dedicated red LED to indicate no selection. The D-RCS4 provides a SEL output that supplies 15 Vdc at 5 mA when the pushbutton is actuated. The front panel delivers a professional aesthetic suitable for visible control locations.
Technically, LED inputs are activated by grounding and interface directly to RDL selector modules. The indicator array consists of four green LEDs for selected channels and one red LED for no selection. Power is ground-referenced and requires a 24 Vdc supply drawing approximately 25 mA while operating.
Connectivity is handled via a detachable terminal block to simplify wiring and service. The D-RCS4 is engineered to interface directly with RDL RACK-UP series control modules such as the RU-SX4A audio selector. Mounting supports US electrical boxes or RDL international wall boxes WB-1U and WB-2U, with decorative plates available separately.
Typical applications include broadcast control rooms, house-of-worship audio panels, small installations requiring remote source stepping and commercial AV racks where multiple control locations are desirable. The D-RCS4 mutes audio during channel stepping when used with compatible RDL modules to prevent audio bursts. Its compact dimensions allow installation in confined wall-box locations.
Installation is straightforward using the detachable terminal block and standard electrical boxes. The panel’s metal front and professional finish support repeated use in staffed control locations. With simple wiring and clear LED feedback, the D-RCS4 offers a practical remote selection solution for RDL-controlled audio systems.
