Description
The DB-RC4M is a four-button remote control designed for source selection in multi-location installations. It provides a compact wall-mounted interface that selects one of four inputs on compatible RDL selector modules. The unit is intended to work directly with RU-ASX4D and RU-ASX4DR selector modules and shares the selector power.
The front panel features four momentary pushbuttons and four green LEDs that indicate the selected channel. The LEDs switch to a dim intensity when idle to minimize distraction and return to bright intensity when a button is pressed. Up to ten DB-RC4M remotes may be wired in parallel for multiple control locations.
Power is ground-referenced 24 Vdc at 30 mA and the unit operates over an ambient range of 0 C to 55 C. Connections are made via a detachable rear terminal block for secure wiring and serviceability. The electronics are enclosed in a rear enclosure mounted to a steel frame for durability.
Remote wiring can be implemented using six conductors or standard UTP cable such as CAT5 or CAT6. The DB-RC4M interfaces directly to RU-ASX4D and RU-ASX4DR selector modules without the need for external converters. The remote draws power from the selector module power supply for simplified system wiring.
Typical applications include conference rooms, classrooms, and broadcast control rooms where single-point or distributed source selection is required. The discreet dimming display reduces visual impact in public spaces while maintaining clear status indication. Multiple remotes provide synchronized source selection at several user locations.
The DB-RC4M mounts in a standard US electrical box and is compatible with RDL WB- and SMB- series wall boxes. The front assembly uses a professional aesthetic stainless steel or optional black or white finish. Rear enclosure protection and a detachable terminal block simplify installation and maintenance.
Compact size, low current draw, and straightforward wiring make the DB-RC4M an efficient choice for installed AV systems requiring distributed source selection. Its direct compatibility with RDL selector modules and standardized wiring options streamline integration into existing installations. The combination of clear LED feedback and momentary pushbutton control provides reliable user interaction in demanding AV environments.
