Description
The DB-RC4ST is a wall-box mounted remote module designed to control an RDL ST-SX4 audio switcher – it provides simple front-panel selection of one of four unbalanced audio sources. The module connects directly to the ST-SX4 POWER and CTRL terminals using either a three-conductor cable or a single shielded pair. Its compact design fits a standard US electrical box for discreet installation.
The front panel offers four momentary pushbuttons with corresponding red LEDs to indicate the active source – source 1 is selected at initial power-up. Pressing any other button immediately deselects source 1 and selects the pressed source. LED indicators provide clear visual confirmation of the active channel.
Connectivity to the ST-SX4 is straightforward – the DB-RC4ST interfaces with the ST-SX4 CTRL and POWER terminals using 3-conductor wiring or a shielded pair. The remote requires a ground-referenced 24 Vdc power source as provided by the ST-SX4. The unit is intended to control unbalanced audio sources and operates in typical indoor AV environments.
The DB-RC4ST is compatible with stereo installations when used together with an additional ST-SX4 – the SLAVE output of the master ST-SX4 can drive the CTRL input of a second ST-SX4. The control wiring and LED feedback are consistent with other RDL remote controls to simplify system integration. The unit complements RDL distribution and control products in professional installations.
Typical applications include small studios, conference rooms, classroom AV systems, and paging or background-music source selection panels – each application benefits from tactile pushbutton selection and visible status LEDs.
