Description
The DB-RCS4 is a wall-mount remote source selector designed to provide remote control and visual indication of selected audio sources. It interfaces directly with compatible RDL control modules to send momentary stepping commands. The unit presents a clean professional appearance for installation in a standard US electrical box.
The panel uses a single momentary pushbutton that issues a stepping SEL command to an RDL selector module to advance to the next input. Green LEDs indicate the active channel and a red LED indicates no channel selected. The selector mutes audio during stepping to prevent bursts of audio during source change.
Indicators include four green LEDs for selected channels and one red LED for no selection. The LED inputs are activated by grounding signals from the connected RDL selector module. The pushbutton output provides SEL at 15 Vdc at 5 mA when actuated.
Connectivity is provided via a detachable terminal block for wiring to RDL modules such as the RU-SX4A Audio Selector. The LED inputs accept grounding signals directly from the selector module for visual feedback. The unit requires a ground-referenced 24 Vdc power source and draws approximately 25 mA.
The DB-RCS4 is suitable for distributed control locations in conference rooms, lecture halls, houses of worship, and multiroom audio systems where centralized source selection is required. Multiple panels can be used for additional control or indication points. The visual LED feedback simplifies monitoring of channel selection across installations.
Installation is straightforward – the panel mounts in a standard US electrical box or RDL international wall boxes WB-1U and WB-2U. A decorative plate is available separately for finished installations. The compact dimensions and rugged construction support reliable long-term operation.
