Description
The DB-RCX2 is a wall-mounted room control that provides local source selection and volume adjustment. It is designed to mount in an RDL WB-1U wall box and offers a Decora style steel front plate in black. The control integrates with RCX systems to provide simple, local user interaction.
Primary user controls include long-life pushbuttons for MUSIC or LOCAL selection and an optical rotary encoder knob with an LED virtual pointer for precise level setting. The pushbuttons permit selection of music or microphone/line inputs and can combine sources as required. The encoder provides a clean, tactile-free interface with clear visual feedback.
Technical details include low-profile Decora form factor, steel front panel and rear enclosure, and compatibility with RCX-5C combiner arrangements. One or two RCX 2 units may be connected in the same room to expand control points. The device’s LED pointer reports relative gain setting to the user and provides reliable indication in varied lighting conditions.
Connectivity is achieved via the RCX control wiring standard used by RDL room combiner systems. The unit mounts directly into the RDL WB-1U wall box and interfaces with the RCX audio/control network. No additional power supply is required beyond the system wiring implemented by the RCX master unit.
Common applications include classrooms, meeting rooms, hospitality suites, and multiroom audio systems where simple user control of source and level is required. Installers and integrators can place the control in each room to provide independent selection between programmed MUSIC and local microphones or line inputs. The design supports paired units in a room where two local control points are desirable.
Installation is straightforward and suited to professional AV install workflows – the unit secures into an RDL WB-1U gang box and uses robust steel construction for long-term reliability. The pushbuttons are rated for long life and the optical encoder provides durable, maintenance-free level control. The DB-RCX2 balances minimal user training with clear visual feedback to reduce operational errors.
