Description
The DB-RLC3 is a compact remote level controller designed to provide pushbutton selection of four preset audio levels for RDL control modules. It interfaces directly to devices that accept a 0 to 10 Vdc resistive control input and supplies concealed installer-adjustable levels. The unit is finished in black and mounts in a standard US electrical box.
The front panel presents four momentary pushbuttons for immediate selection of HIGH, NORM, LOW and MIN system levels. HIGH selects the VCA maximum gain while NORM, LOW and MIN are set by trimpots concealed on the device body. A green LED provides visual confirmation of the active selection.
Installer-adjustable trimpots allow NORM, LOW and MIN to be set to specific attenuation values to suit system requirements. The adjustable ranges are NORM -3 dB to -30 dB, LOW -5 dB to -40 dB, and MIN -10 dB to Off. The HIGH position presents a fixed 10 kOhm resistance equivalent to 0 dB.
Connectivity is via a detachable terminal block and the DB-RLC3 runs from the same ground-referenced 24 Vdc supply used by compatible RDL VCAs. The interface is a direct resistive 0 to 10 Vdc control designed to work with units such as the ST-VCA3 and RU-VCA2A. No additional signal conversion is required for compatible RDL modules.
The DB-RLC3 is suitable for distributed audio systems where simple, user-accessible level presets are needed. Typical applications include paging zones, classrooms, retail areas and conference rooms where rapid selection of predefined levels improves usability. Hidden trimpot adjustments ensure end users cannot alter installer-calibrated levels.
Installation is straightforward – the unit mounts in a standard US electrical box and accepts detachable terminal connections for control wiring. The compact footprint and professional appearance provide a clean wall-plate solution and the robust internal design is intended for continuous use in commercial environments. Ambient operating range is 0 C to 50 C providing reliable operation in typical indoor venues.
