Description
The DB-SFRC8 Room Control Station is an in-wall SourceFlex listening station designed to provide local source selection and level control in a single room. It supports selection from up to eight audio sources and displays the selected source on a front-panel numeric LED. The unit also provides both line-level outputs and an integrated speaker amplifier for local listening.
Key features include a momentary source select pushbutton, a single-turn front-panel volume control, and a numeric seven-segment display showing the active source. The rear panel offers balanced and unbalanced line outputs and a detachable terminal block for wiring. A rear-panel switch configures the balanced line output as fixed +4 dBu or variable under front-panel control.
Audio performance is maintained by a high-efficiency Class D amplifier tailored for clear voice and music reproduction. Nominal line outputs are +4 dBu balanced and -10 dBV unbalanced. The internal amplifier delivers up to 3.5 W RMS into 8 ohms and up to 6.5 W RMS into 4 ohms, while protecting the circuit with thermal and short-circuit protection.
Connectivity includes a 10-position detachable terminal block for inputs and speaker connections, plus control conductors for DISPLAY RAMP and CONTROL signals back to the SourceFlex controller. The display is a red seven-segment LED that indicates channel 1 through 8 or shows 0 for off or paging. Power is supplied by the SourceFlex controller at 24 Vdc and current usage varies with operating power level.
The DB-SFRC8 is intended for distributed audio applications such as office background music and paging where centralized source routing is combined with local listening. It provides a compact in-wall footprint that fits a US single-gang electrical box or RDL WB-1U. The unit is compatible with other RDL wall plates and control elements used in SourceFlex installations.
Installation is straightforward and requires only wiring and an external 8 ohm speaker for most use cases. The detachable terminal block simplifies field wiring and service. Built for quiet operation, the Class D output stage produces negligible heat and the unit is robustly protected for reliable daily operation.
