The DB-SFRC8L is an in-wall SourceFlex audio selector module designed to provide simple pushbutton selection among up to eight line-level sources. It presents the selected source on a seven-segment numeric LED display so users can confirm the active feed at a glance. The unit provides both balanced and unbalanced line outputs to drive external amplifiers.
Key features include momentary pushbutton source selection, a bright red 7-segment numeric display, and dual line outputs: a nominal +4 dBu balanced output and a nominal -10 dBV unbalanced output. The selector accepts wiring via a 10-position detachable terminal block on the rear panel. The unit is powered by the SourceFlex controller using a 24 Vdc supply.
Performance specifications include a flat frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz within +/-0.1 dB and total harmonic distortion plus noise of less than 0.1% over the same band. Measured noise is below -85 dB referenced to +4 dBu, ensuring quiet background operation in distributed audio systems. Control and display signaling use low-voltage DC conductors between the listening station and the SourceFlex controller.
Connectivity is handled through the rear detachable terminal block that carries up to eight source feeds plus control and power conductors. The unit provides two line outputs, one balanced and one unbalanced, for feeding amplifiers or downstream processors. It is compatible with other RDL wall plates and controls and mounts in a standard US single-gang electrical box or RDL WB-1U.
The SFRC8L is suited to office distributed sound systems that need background music selection plus a paging input. Typical installations include open-plan offices, retail fronts, conference rooms and small facilities that require local source selection and clear visual channel indication. The numeric display also supports a paging indication state for immediate attention when priority audio is present.
Installation is straightforward – the module mounts in a standard single-gang box and terminates on a detachable 10-position terminal block, simplifying wiring and service. Power is supplied from the SourceFlex controller at 24 Vdc and current draw is modest at 30 mA. The compact steel and plastic enclosure and standard mounting footprint make integration and replacement simple for AV technicians.
