Description
The DS-RC4M is a wall-mount remote control designed to provide source selection at single or multiple locations. It supplies four momentary pushbutton selectors matched to a 4-channel selector module. The front panel includes LED indicators that show the currently selected source.
The control features four single-button selectors, one for each source, and adjacent green LEDs that illuminate to indicate selection. The LED display brightens during button action and dims when idle to minimize visual distraction. Up to ten remote locations can be wired in parallel for distributed control.
Technically, the DS-RC4M operates from a ground-referenced 24 Vdc supply drawing approximately 30 mA. The unit is compatible with RDL RU-ASX4D and RU-ASX4DR selector modules and interfaces via a detachable rear terminal block. The ambient operating range is 0 C to 55 C to suit typical indoor AV environments.
Connectivity is provided through a rear detachable terminal block suitable for six conductors or UTP cable such as CAT5 or CAT6. The remote is intended to wire directly to RDL selector modules and may share the selector power supply. As many as nine additional remotes may be paralleled on the same control bus.
The DS-RC4M is suited to conference rooms, audio-visual racks, and distributed source selection installations where multiple control points are needed. It provides immediate visual confirmation of source selection and simplifies local control of multi-source selectors. The dim-to-bright LED behavior reduces distraction in darkened rooms while ensuring clear feedback when used.
Installation is straightforward – the control mounts in a standard US electrical box and uses secure rear enclosure construction for the electronics. The front mounting frame is steel for a professional aesthetic and long-term durability. Connections are made with a detachable terminal block to facilitate wiring and service without panel removal.
