The DS-TPR3A is an active three-pair Format-A twisted-pair receiver designed to provide local XLR balanced and stereo RCA outputs. It receives audio on all three Format-A pairs and presents a selectable balanced XLR output plus two unbalanced RCA outputs. The front panel is stainless steel to match Decora-style stainless controls and faceplates in commercial installations.
The module offers a switch-selectable XLR output set to Mic (-45 dBu) or Line (+4 dBu) and two buffered RCA outputs at -10 dBV for left and right channels. Pair A feeds the XLR balanced output while pairs B and C feed the left and right RCA outputs respectively. Bridging inputs allow up to 10 receivers per cable pair, enabling multiple remote listening or processing points on the same feed.
Audio performance is engineered for low noise and high fidelity with a frequency response of 10 Hz to 50 kHz (±0.1 dB) and THD+N under 0.005%. Noise below -4 dBu measures under -90 dB, crosstalk is better than 90 dB at 1 kHz and better than 75 dB across 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The unit provides over 18 dB headroom above +4 dBu and CMRR greater than 80 dB in the 50 Hz to 150 Hz range.
Powering is flexible: the DS-TPR3A accepts local 24 Vdc via a detachable terminal block and can also be remotely powered over the Format-A twisted pair from a compatible power inserter or module. Local power is fused and feeds downstream modules on the same cable, and a front-panel blue LED indicates power present. Connections include an RJ45 Format-A input and standard XLR plus RCA audio outputs for straightforward integration.
Typical applications include distributed audio playback points, remote recording feeds, and integration into paging or BGM systems where multiple receiver locations are needed. The bridging input topology and support for multiple receivers per pair reduce cabling and simplify system layouts. Its stainless front makes it suitable for commercial wall-box installations where matching faceplates and robustness are required.
Installation is simple: the module fits RDL WB-1U and WB-2U wall boxes or standard U.S. electrical boxes and requires a minimum mounting depth of 2.4 inches. The detachable power terminal and RJ45 input simplify wiring and maintenance, and the switch-selectable output level allows field configuration without complex adjustments.
