Description
The EVF-1152D/94-FGB is a fully weatherized 2-way point-source loudspeaker designed to deliver clear speech and musical reproduction in exposed environments. It combines a 15 inch low-frequency transducer and a 3 inch titanium compression driver on a rotatable constant-directivity horn. The enclosure is fiberglass-coated birch plywood rated to IP55 to withstand sun, rain, fog and snow.
Key features include a rotatable 90° x 40° constant-directivity waveguide, a DH7N 3 inch titanium compression driver, and the DVX3151A 15 inch FEA-optimized woofer. The internal passive crossover is a 4th-order design with a 1,300 Hz acoustic crossover point and integrated dynamic protection for both LF and HF sections. The system supports switchable bi-amp or passive operation and offers an optional 70.7/100 V transformer kit for distributed systems.
Performance specifications include a half-space frequency response of 107 Hz to 18 kHz (-3 dB) and a broader range of 58 Hz to 21 kHz (-10 dB). Sensitivity is 100 dB for the LF section and 112 dB for the HF section, with maximum calculated SPL values up to 137 dB for HF and 134 dB overall. Passive power handling is rated at 600 W continuous and 2,400 W peak while nominal impedance is 8 ohms.
Connectivity is provided via a dual four-pin 10 AWG Phoenix/Euro Block with a CDG dual-gland-nut input panel cover included for weatherizing applications. The input panel supports an externally accessible jumper to select passive or active operation and can accept an optional NL4 cover plate. The cabinet includes 22 M10 threaded suspension points to facilitate flown arrays or fixed installs.
Typical applications include outdoor PA, houses of worship, theme parks, and sports facilities where exposure to weather is a factor and consistent coverage is required. The rotatable horn and trapezoidal enclosure allow horizontal or vertical arraying with other EVF/EVH series models to shape coverage and directivity. The combination of high output and controlled dispersion preserves clarity at long throw distances.
Installation and serviceability are straightforward thanks to the external operation mode switch, multiple suspension points, and weatherized connector options. The cabinet construction uses 13-ply birch plywood with a fiberglass finish while the grille is 18 gauge stainless steel with hydrophobic cloth backing. These features reduce downtime and lower total cost of ownership in permanently installed and exposed environments.
