Description
The EVF-1152D/99 is a two-way point-source loudspeaker engineered for close to mid-field sound reinforcement. It combines a 15in FEA-optimized woofer and a 3in titanium compression driver on a rotatable constant-directivity horn to deliver controlled 90 x 90 coverage. The cabinet is weather-resistant birch finished in EVCoat for enhanced protection against the elements.
Key features include a rotatable 90 x 90 waveguide, a DH7N 3in titanium compression driver, and the DVX3151A 15in LF transducer developed with FEA for low distortion. The integrated fourth-order crossover with a 1300 Hz acoustic crossover and a dynamic protection circuit provides smooth vocal-range response and reliable thermal protection. The cabinet geometry supports both horizontal and vertical arraying with compatible EVF/EVH series enclosures.
Performance specifications include a very linear nominal response across the mid and high bands, wide bandwidth down to the LF limits, calculated maximum SPL of 134 dB at 1 m, and a recommended high-pass frequency of 45 Hz. Passive nominal impedance is 8 ohms with a minimum impedance of 6 ohms. Power handling is rated at 600 W continuous, 1200 W program, and 2400 W peak.
Connectivity is via a Phoenix-style Euroblock input panel; PI and FG versions include a dual-gland-nut input-panel cover for weatherized installations. An external jumper allows easy selection between passive and bi-amp (active) operation. A kit option enables mounting of a 70.7/100 V transformer for distributed systems. The grille and fasteners are corrosion-resistant for installation longevity.
Typical applications include permanent installs in houses of worship, theaters, clubs, and medium-size auditoria where controlled pattern coverage and high intelligibility are required. The trapezoidal enclosure and multiple suspension points enable flown arrays or fixed mounts while maintaining predictable coverage and consistent tonality across the listening area. The rotatable horn simplifies adapting coverage to venue geometry.
Installation and maintenance are simplified by a compact trapezoidal form factor, 22 M10 suspension points, and an externally accessible operation-mode switch. The weatherized construction, EVCoat finish, and available input-panel covers support semi-exposed installations. Overall, the EVF-1152D/99 balances high SPL capability, pattern control, and durable construction for demanding installed-A/V systems.
