Description
The EVF-2151D is a dual 15in front-loaded subwoofer designed to deliver controlled, high-output low frequency reinforcement. It uses two DVX3159A 15in drivers developed with FEA-optimized motor and suspension components to reduce distortion and preserve intelligibility at high SPL. The enclosure is finished in EVCoat black over weather-resistant birch for environmental protection.
Key features include two high-excursion 15in woofers, a front-loaded acoustic design, and an externally accessible passive/active jumper. The cabinet supports vertical and horizontal clustering with other EVF and EVH series cabinets and offers multiple suspension points for flown or ground-stack configurations. An optional fully weatherized fiberglass version and optional flying hardware extend deployment options.
Performance specifications include a frequency range to -10 dB of 30 Hz – 3.2, a frequency response (-3 dB) of 40 Hz – 2.6, a rated sensitivity of 101 dB (1 W/1 m), and a calculated maximum SPL of 137 dB. System power handling is specified as 1000 W continuous, 2000 W program, and 4000 W peak. Nominal impedance is 4 ohm with biamp minimum impedance noted as 2.7 ohm in biamp mode.
Connectivity is handled via a Phoenix-style euroblock input panel capable of accepting up to 10 AWG and allowing installation of an NL4-type cover or gland-nut for weatherized installs. The input panel can accept an optional 70.7/100 V transformer kit (150 W) for distributed systems. The accessible jumper lets technicians switch between passive and active configurations without opening the enclosure.
The EVF-2151D is suited to permanent installs, portable PA systems, and outdoor events when using weatherized variants. Its trapezoidal birch enclosure and comprehensive rigging provision simplify ground-stack, flown arrays, and integrated system designs. Acoustic design supports omnidirectional low-frequency coverage in the nominal operating range which eases subwoofer placement and array design.
Build quality focuses on installation reliability and long-term performance. The cabinet is constructed from 13-ply weather-resistant birch with reinforced internal steel rigging top and bottom and a galvanneal or stainless grille with hydrophobic acoustic cloth. Multiple M10 suspension points and an included kit of forged eyebolts support secure attachment and alignment in professional AV installations.
