Description
The Electro-Voice EVU-1082/95-BLK is an ultracompact two-way loudspeaker designed to deliver clear speech and music in tight spaces. It combines an 8in FEA-optimized woofer and a 1.3in titanium compression driver mounted on a rotatable constant-directivity horn. The enclosure is engineered for low-profile mounting near walls, under balconies, or stage lips where space is limited.
Key features include a rotatable 90 x 50 constant-directivity waveguide, an 8in low-frequency transducer, and a 1.3in diaphragm compression driver. The passive crossover uses 3rd order slopes and acoustic equalization to smooth the vocal range and preserve off-axis linearity. A protection circuit enhances long-term reliability in demanding installations.
Performance specifications include a frequency range of 65 Hz to 20 kHz (-10 dB) and a nominal frequency response of 110 Hz to 16 kHz (-3 dB). Calculated maximum SPL at 1 m is 123 dB and axial sensitivity is 95 dB (1 W @ 1 m). Nominal impedance is 8 ohms and recommended high-pass frequency is 90 Hz for system protection and optimized headroom.
Connectivity is provided through a 4-pin Phoenix/Euroblock input that accepts up to 10 AWG wire, and the enclosure includes barrier strip provisions. The enclosure offers six M8 suspension points and a universal U-mount bracket is included for flexible mounting and unobstructed rotation. An optional 70.7/100 V transformer kit can be fitted over the input panel for distributed systems.
Common use scenarios include vocal reinforcement in houses of worship, side-fill or under-balcony coverage in performing arts venues, and compact installed sound for conference rooms and retail spaces. The EVU-1082/95-BLK maintains consistent coverage at high frequencies thanks to its rotatable waveguide and optimized crossover network. Its size and mounting options make it suitable where visual impact must be minimized without sacrificing clarity.
Installation and maintenance are straightforward due to the trapezoidal slant-sided enclosure, multiple suspension points, and included U-bracket. The cabinet is constructed from hardwood plywood with textured paint and a vinyl-coated steel grille protecting the face. The design balances low weight and rugged build quality to simplify integration and long-term operation in professional AV environments.
