Description
The VGA and Audio to HDMI Scaler Converter is a compact converter designed to scale and convert analog VGA video and L/R stereo audio into a single HDMI digital output. It accepts VGA signals up to WUXGA and outputs HDMI up to 1080p60 or 1920 x 1200. The unit embeds two-channel analog audio into the HDMI stream and presents an intuitive on-screen display for configuration.
Key features include scaling to Full HD, a built-in test pattern generator, and selectable aspect ratio control including Full Screen / Panoramic / Letter/Pillar / Extract/Crop. The unit supports advanced EDID management and firmware updates via the included USB interface and the Gefen Syner-G software. The device also provides a locking power connector and a wide 6V to 24V DC operating range for flexible installations.
Performance specifications include a maximum pixel clock of 165 MHz and a maximum TMDS clock of 225 MHz. The converter accepts input resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) and can produce output resolutions up to 1080p60 as well as WUXGA. Power consumption is minimal at 2.6W maximum and the product offers a rated MTBF of 50000 hours.
Connectivity options are straightforward: a single VGA HD-15 input, a locking HDMI Type A output, a 3.5mm mini-stereo jack for L/R audio input, and a Mini-B USB port for configuration and firmware updates. The HDMI output supports embedded two-channel stereo audio and the unit includes menu/navigation tact switches for local control. Surface-mountable enclosures and a locking 3-pin power connector simplify secure installations.
This converter is suitable for conference rooms, classrooms, digital signage, and studio environments where legacy VGA sources need to be presented on modern HDMI displays. It is practical for laptops, PCs, legacy media players, and presentation systems that require audio embedding and resolution scaling. The on-screen display and test pattern generator speed up commissioning and verification on site.
The unit is built for field use with an operating temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees C and non-condensing humidity tolerance from 5% to 90% RH. The compact footprint and surface-mountable design support installations in racks, behind displays, or in custom enclosures. Overall the converter offers a compact, reliable, and configurable solution for integrating VGA sources into HDMI-based systems.
