The FC-46H2 is a compact professional HDMI audio de-embedder designed to extract audio from HDMI video streams and from HDMI ARC sources. It supports HDMI video resolutions up to 4K@60Hz (4:4:4) and handles HDR content while maintaining HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 compatibility. The unit outputs de-embedded audio simultaneously to digital S/PDIF and a 5-pin balanced analog output.
Primary features include flexible audio source selection between the HDMI input and the HDMI output ARC and simultaneous S/PDIF and balanced analog outputs. The FC-46H2 supports a maximum data rate of 18Gbps (6Gbps per graphic channel) and preserves signal integrity using Kramer re-Klocking and equalization technology. EDID management is configurable via DIP switches to pass-through, lock, or force 2-channel LPCM.
Performance-wise the FC-46H2 handles full 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 signals and allows de-embedding of multichannel audio downmixed to the available outputs according to the selected EDID. HDR metadata is passed through so image quality is retained while audio is extracted. HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 support ensures compatibility with protected content sources and displays.
Connectivity includes an HDMI input and HDMI output with ARC support, a S/PDIF digital audio output, and a 5-pin balanced analog audio output for integration with professional audio systems. Local control is provided via a front panel Audio Source button and status is shown through audio source, audio output, and power LEDs. Field firmware updates are supported through a mini USB port to keep the unit current with system requirements.
The FC-46H2 is suitable for AV racks, conference rooms, classrooms, and broadcast or streaming environments where separating audio from HDMI is required for processing or distribution. Typical uses include feeding digital audio processors, PA systems, or recording devices while passing video to a display or switcher. The unit is aimed at integrators who require reliable audio extraction without altering video performance.
Installation is straightforward thanks to the compact DigTOOLS fan-less enclosure which allows surface mounting or side-by-side installation of three units in a 1U rack space using the recommended rack adapter. The front panel controls and LED indicators simplify onsite troubleshooting and configuration.
