Description
The FiDO-2R-12G is a compact fiber-to-SDI receiver designed to convert single-mode LC fiber into two independent 12G-SDI outputs. It supports SD through 12G-SDI data rates and provides reliable conversion for long cable runs up to 10 km. The receiver is built for space-constrained installations and portable workflows where robust fiber connectivity is required.
The unit accepts two independent single-mode LC fiber connections and delivers two matching 12G-SDI BNC outputs. Both channels support 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD-SDI formats and operate independently so signals on each fiber path do not interfere. Reclocking is performed automatically for common SDI rates to maintain signal integrity on long runs.
Video performance covers 270 Mbps up to 12 Gbps and is format agnostic to support a wide range of frame rates and color depths. Optical inputs accept wavelengths from 1260 nm to 1620 nm with specified sensitivity and overload thresholds. The receiver consumes a maximum of 3.5 watts and accepts 5-20 VDC power, and it ships with the DWP-U-R1 power supply.
Connectivity includes two single-mode LC fiber inputs (2 simplex or 1 duplex) and two matching 12G-SDI BNC outputs compatible with SMPTE-259/292/424/2081/2082 standards. The device supports auto-select reclocking for common rates while passing other rates through without reclocking. Installers will find the locking power connector and optional P-TAP compatibility useful for portable power setups.
Typical use cases include camera-to-truck links, OB van installs, and remote edit or playback feeds that require high bandwidth transport over single-mode fiber. The FiDO-2R-12G is suitable where long distance distribution of high frame rate or deep color SDI signals is required. Its small footprint allows placement behind monitors, on camera rigs, or in tight rack spaces.
Built to AJA quality standards, the receiver features a durable low-profile enclosure and a locking DC power input to prevent accidental disconnects. It is covered by a five year warranty and AJA advanced replacement service for rapid field support. Installation is straightforward using standard LC fiber connectors and BNC cabling, and the device requires minimal configuration to begin signal conversion.
