Description
The FiDO-R-12G-ST is a single-channel single-mode ST fiber to 12G-SDI receiver designed for long-distance uncompressed SDI transport. It receives optical signals over standard single-mode fiber and converts them to 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD-SDI outputs. The compact housing and included universal power supply make it suitable for tight rackspace and on-camera installations.
This receiver provides dual matching 12G-SDI BNC outputs to feed monitors, routers, or downstream devices while preserving signal fidelity. The simplex ST fiber input supports SMPTE optical standards and a nominal receive wavelength range of 1260 nm to 1620 nm. Optical sensitivity and overload thresholds are tuned to support up to 12 Gbps signals reliably over long distances.
Performance-wise the FiDO-R-12G-ST accepts video rates from 270 Mbps up to 12 Gbps and is format agnostic across supported SMPTE standards. Reclocking is applied automatically for common SDI rates including 270 Mbps, HD rates, 3G, 6G and 12G where specified. The receiver supports optical runs up to 10 km over standard single-mode fiber depending on link conditions.
Connectivity includes a single-mode ST fiber input and two matching 12G-SDI BNC outputs compliant with SMPTE 259/292/424/2081/2082. Power is provided via 5-20 VDC and the universal DWP-U-R1 power supply is included for global use. A locking power connector and optional P-TAP cable enable secure and battery-based installations.
Typical applications include camera-to-baseband transport on live productions, OB vans, long-distance signal distribution in studios, and point-to-point links between facilities. The dual SDI outputs allow easy monitoring or parallel feeding of recorders and routing equipment. The small footprint simplifies deployment where space is limited.
Installation is straightforward with front-facing BNCs and a single ST fiber connector for rapid integration. The unit operates between 0 to 40 C and stores safely when powered off from -40 to 60 C, supporting typical broadcast environment requirements. A five year warranty provides long-term support for professional installations.
