The FP-NML2 is a Dante network audio interface that converts two digital audio channels into professional analog mic or line outputs. It supplies balanced line-level outputs and switchable mic attenuation to interface directly with mixers and amplifiers. The unit is built for continuous duty installations and ships in a compact metal enclosure.
Key features include two independent Dante channels converted to balanced outputs, recessed mic/line switches with 50 dB attenuation, and high-resolution 24-bit digital-to-analog conversion. Line outputs are calibrated so -18 dBFS equals +4 dBu nominal, providing >18 dB headroom. The analog section uses precision filtering and low-noise design to maintain audio integrity across the band.
Performance specifications include 24-bit conversion, support for 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates, THD+N below 0.1%, and noise floor better than -80 dB when outputs are active. Crosstalk is below the noise floor across the audio band, and frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz +/- 0.5 dB. The device mutes outputs when digital inputs are inactive to prevent noise in downstream equipment.
Connectivity is straightforward: an RJ45 Dante network connector with link and speed indicators, two balanced detachable terminal-block outputs, and two power connection options including a 24 Vdc jack and detachable terminal block. The FP-NML2P variant supports IEEE 802.3af Class 0 PoE and can operate in normal or hot-standby modes. A 24 Vdc pass-through jack allows power sharing with compatible RDL FLAT-PAK amplifiers.
This interface suits a wide range of installations including installed sound systems, conferencing rooms, and distributed audio networks where existing analog amplifiers or mixers must be integrated into Dante networks. Installers can use the mic/line switches to feed mic-level inputs on amplifiers without additional pads or adapters.
