Description
The FP-NML2V is a two-channel Dante network to mic/line interface designed to convert Dante digital audio channels into professional analog outputs. It delivers nominal +4 dBu line outputs at a network level of -18 dBFS and provides mic-level attenuation for direct feeding of microphone inputs. The unit is intended for permanent installations in racks, closets, tables and backboards.
Each channel features a recessed mic/line switch that supplies 50 dB of attenuation to connect to mic inputs, plus an un-attenuated balanced output that provides +4 dBu at nominal digital level. Independent VCA circuits let you control each output remotely using industry standard 0 to 10 V control or compatible RDL remote controls. The FP-NML2V uses 24-bit DACs and RDL analog filtering to preserve audio fidelity and low distortion.
The module supports 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates and 24-bit audio resolution. Measured performance includes frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (±0.5 dB), THD+N below 0.1%, noise below +4 dBu better than -80 dB when active and better than -95 dB when muted, and more than 18 dB of headroom above +4 dBu. Crosstalk is below the noise floor across the audio band.
Connectivity includes an RJ45 network port with link and speed indicators for Dante transport and two balanced analog outputs on a detachable terminal block. Power is supplied by an external 24 Vdc source via a power jack or detachable terminal block; the FP-NML2VP option supports PoE normal or hot-standby operation. A 24 Vdc pass-through jack and cable enable power sharing with compatible RDL FLAT-PAK amplifiers.
Typical installations include audio distribution to standard commercial amplifiers, conference room audio systems and distributed paging systems where Dante networking is used. The individually adjustable outputs allow one unit to feed two separate amplifiers or destinations while maintaining independent level control. The recessed switches and low-noise analog path make the unit suitable where clean mic and line interfacing is required.
The FP-NML2V is housed in an all-metal enclosure sized for rack or surface mounting and built for continuous duty. Simple indicators show Ethernet link, speed and SYNC status to aid commissioning. With professional-level analog conversion and remote VCA control, the product provides an efficient way to adapt legacy amplifiers and mixers to Dante networks.
