Description
The FP-PEQ3 is a single-channel 3-band parametric equalizer module designed to provide precise frequency shaping and acoustic notch filtering. It offers fully independent control of three filters to target specific resonances or tonal issues. The module delivers studio-quality low-noise operation in a compact FLAT-PAK form factor.
Each of the three identical filters provides independent FREQUENCY, BOOST/CUT amplitude, and bandwidth controls. Frequency ranges are switch-selectable and overlap to allow seamless coverage from low bass to high treble. The BOOST/CUT control is switch-selectable for cut or boost and offers a +/-15 dB range for accurate level adjustment.
Bandwidth is continuously adjustable from 0.04 octave to 1.5 octave, enabling narrow notch filtering or wider tonal shaping as required. When BOOST/CUT is set to minimum, that filter is effectively removed from the signal path. The flat filter response provides 10 Hz to 20 kHz performance within +/-0.25 dB when filters are neutral.
The FP-PEQ3 includes balanced +4 dBu inputs and outputs on detachable terminal blocks and -10 dBV unbalanced phono jacks for flexible connectivity. Input impedance is 10 kOhm balanced bridging and 10 kOhm unbalanced to suit line-level sources. The module uses a ground-referenced 24 Vdc supply and draws approximately 120 mA.
This module is well suited to corrective equalization in install locations, studio racks, and live sound trunks where precise notch filtering or tonal control is required. Typical applications include feedback suppression, room tuning, dialogue clarity enhancement, and corrective tonal shaping for loudspeakers or microphones. Its small footprint and FLAT-PAK compatibility make it simple to integrate into existing racks or distributed audio systems.
Installation is straightforward with plug-in terminal blocks and phono jack options for quick wiring and troubleshooting. The robust electro-mechanical design and low THD+N (<0.005%) ensure reliable long-term performance.
