Description
The HD-MA35UA is a mixer amplifier that combines a four-input mixer with two Class D amplifier zones to deliver efficient distributed audio. It provides a 35 W constant-voltage main output and a secondary 4 W low-impedance output for small local speakers. The unit automatically sleeps when no audio is detected to minimize power consumption.
Key capabilities include independent Zone 1 front-panel mixing and tone control and a rear-panel Zone 2 mixer with installer trimmers. The main zone supports 25 V / 70 V / 100 V constant-voltage outputs and VCA master control via RJ45 or standard 0 to 10 Vdc control. Paging priority is supported through VOX or push-to-talk with ducking that attenuates other inputs by 25 dB.
Performance features include analog-filtered Class D outputs for both amplifier zones and the 600 ohm MOH output, and a front-panel compressor/limiter on Zone 1 to maximize average output without audible clipping. Headroom and noise specifications meet pro audio expectations with THD+N under specified thresholds and low noise floor figures. The unit meets energy efficiency criteria and consumes less than 1 W in standby.
Connectivity covers balanced mic/line inputs for Inputs 1 and 2, unbalanced RCA stereo-summed Inputs 3 and 4, an unbalanced amp-in RCA, dual-mono RCA line outputs, a transformer-balanced 600 ohm MOH output, and detachable terminal-block outputs for amplified zones. An effects send/return loop, remote VCA jack, and a 24 Vdc accessory power terminal are also provided. Controls and switches on the rear panel allow configuration of phantom power, ducking targets, EQ routing, and sleep timers.
Typical applications include background music systems with integrated paging, small zone public-address installs, and music-on-hold feed generation for telephony systems. The Zone 1 compressor increases perceived loudness and clarity which is beneficial in retail, hospitality, and small corporate paging systems. The secondary 4 W zone and MOH output simplify multi-purpose installations without additional amplifiers.
Installation is streamlined by detachable terminal blocks, RJ45 control compatibility with RDL remotes, and a compact chassis that fits standard equipment racks or shelf mounts. Front-panel meters and LED indicators assist in setup and signal monitoring while internal soft-start and protection circuits prevent turn-on transients and protect against thermal or short conditions. The HD-MA35UA is engineered and manufactured in the USA to conservative energy standards and includes the external 24 Vdc power supply.
