Description
The HT-DSCV3-RX-V2 is a receiver in the DSCV3 HDBaseT USB 3.2 extender family designed to extend USB 3.2 signals and deliver dual HDMI video over a single HDBaseT link. It provides USB 3.2 Gen 1×1 data extension up to 5 Gbit/s and supports long-distance transmission up to 90m over Cat6a/7 cable. The unit is compact and intended for professional AV installations that require USB peripheral extension alongside mirrored or duplicated HDMI outputs.
Key features include POH support that allows the extender pair to be powered from one side, PSE capability at the transmitter delivering host charging, and dual HDMI outputs on the receiver model. The receiver supports RS-232 pass-through and a 3.5mm line audio output to accommodate control and audio extraction workflows. USB compatibility covers USB 3.2, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and USB 1.1 devices for broad peripheral support.
Performance specifications deliver 4K@30Hz output on each HDMI port and up to 5 Gbit/s USB data bandwidth over the HDBaseT link. The system supports transmission distances to 90m using Cat6a or Cat7 cable while preserving USB 3.2 throughput where link conditions allow. Firmware and driver requirements are straightforward – the DisplayLink driver is required for non-Windows hosts to enable video over USB-C when applicable.
Connectivity on the RX unit includes one RJ-45 HDBaseT input, two USB 3.2 Type-A device ports, one USB 3.2 Type-C device port, two HDMI outputs, one 3.5mm line audio output and a 3-pin Phoenix RS-232 port. The receiver accepts a 52V DC input via the included 52V 65W power supply when local power is required. DisplayLink driver support is noted for macOS, ChromeOS, Linux, and Android platforms whereas most Windows systems include the driver by default.
Typical applications include conference rooms and classrooms where a single USB-C source at the transmitter can be extended to connected displays and USB peripherals at the receiver. The dual HDMI outputs enable mirrored displays or multi-view setups without additional splitters. The integrated RS-232 and audio outputs support centralized control and local audio distribution for meetings and presentation spaces.
Installation is simplified by the compact form factor and included mounting hardware for discreet placement near displays or inside AV racks. Power over HDBT reduces cabling complexity by allowing a single powered endpoint to feed the system when POH is active. Hall Technologies designs the DSCV3 family for reliable operation and backs the hardware with a defined limited warranty and support channels for firmware updates and service.
