Description
The HT-DSCV3-TX is a USB 3.2 transmitter designed to extend USB 3.2 Gen 1×1 connectivity over HDBaseT infrastructure. It provides a USB-C host interface and supports high-speed data transfer across structured copper cabling. The unit pairs with Hall Technologies RX models to deliver remote USB connectivity and control in AV installations.
The transmitter supports up to 5 Gbit/s throughput while maintaining backward compatibility with USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and USB 1.1 devices. It features RS-232 pass-through for control signaling and a POH module that allows the system to be powered from a single side. LED indicators and a firmware update/debug port simplify monitoring and maintenance.
Performance specifications include a maximum extension distance of 90m over Cat6a/7 and a USB 3.2 Gen 1×1 data rate of 5 Gbit/s. Power options include a POH power module and an internal PSE module capable of supplying charging power to the connected host. The product accepts a DC 52V input at 1.5A (65W) when a local power supply is used – note that power supplies are not included with the transmitter.
Connectivity on the HT-DSCV3-TX includes a USB 3.2 Type-C host port, a 3-pin Phoenix RS-232 connector, and an RJ-45 HDBaseT output. The transmitter is compatible with HT-DSCV3-RX, HT-DSCV3-RX-V2 and DSCV3-RX-WP receiver models. When paired with the -RX-WP receiver, a separate local power supply will be required at the transmitter.
Typical applications include AV control rooms, digital signage installations, and remote USB peripheral extension in meeting spaces and classrooms. The RS-232 pass-through and HDBaseT reach make the transmitter suitable for environments that require centralized control and remote device access. The USB-C host port supports charging of connected hosts when adequate local power is provided.
Installation is straightforward with a compact metal enclosure, removable L-brackets for mounting, and rubber feet for desktop placement. Firmware updates are supported via the debug port and status LEDs provide clear operational feedback. Hall Technologies backs the hardware with a limited warranty and recommends installation by qualified integrators for professional AV deployments.
