Description
The IPD-RS62-EZ is a Dante-addressable 6.5 inch coaxial open-ceiling network speaker engineered for distributed audio systems. It delivers low-latency digital audio, power, and control over standard category cable to simplify networked installations. The speaker is available in a white finish and is designed to perform reliably in both indoor and covered outdoor environments.
Key features include a single 6.5 inch coaxial driver equipped with BroadBeam Ring high-frequency dispersion technology to maintain smooth HF response across listening zones. Network audio and PoE/PoE+ power are delivered over an RJ45 connection to STNet-Switch or compatible PoE/PoE+ switches, while a 24V DC barrel input provides a non-PoE power alternative. The unit supports software-based configuration and zoning for system flexibility.
Measured performance highlights include a wide usable bandwidth with frequency response specified as ±10 dB from 80 Hz to 22 kHz and a typical ±3 dB range near 100 Hz to 20 kHz. The speaker can reach a maximum SPL of approximately 101 dB at 1 meter and uses a 40 W total bi-amp power arrangement. Directional characteristics are expressed by an averaged directivity factor Q of 3.6 (100 Hz – 10 kHz) and a directivity index DI near 5.5 dB across that band.
Connectivity is provided by an RJ45 Ethernet connector for Dante audio, PoE/PoE+ power and control, plus a 24V DC barrel connector option. Configuration and zoning are performed via network software, and the unit ships with hanging hardware including galvanized steel cables and a locking cover plate for direct-to-conduit mounting. Weather plug and hardware accessories are included to support a range of mounting scenarios.
Typical applications include background and foreground music in retail and hospitality spaces, paging and voice evacuation in corporate and education environments, and distributed audio in transit hubs and leisure facilities. The speaker’s networkability and low-latency Dante transport make it suitable in systems requiring synchronized multi-zone audio. Its white finish and compact profile support discreet installation in architecturally sensitive spaces.
The enclosure is molded from ABS reinforced with glass fiber for long-term durability and the grille is aluminum with a protective powder coat finish. Installation is streamlined by included hanging kits and a locking cover plate, while recyclable packaging reduces environmental impact. UL 1480 UEAY, UL 2239 and EN54-24:2008 certifications are planned to support code-compliant installations.
