Description
The IPD-SM500i-II is an IP addressable surface-mount speaker designed to deliver networked audio with low latency and easy system control. It combines a 5.25 in polypropylene woofer and a 1.0 in convex titanium tweeter mounted behind a BroadBeam® waveguide to provide consistent coverage across a wide listening area. The enclosure is injection-molded, glass fiber reinforced ABS engineered for a low profile and discreet placement.
Key features include Dante audio networking, Power over Ethernet support, and onboard control via SoundTube software. The speaker accepts 40 watts of PoE power from compatible switches or the STNet-Switch and also supports 24V DC input for non-PoE installations. The included Stealth bracket mounting system provides unlimited directional aiming and a security knob to reduce tampering after placement.
Performance specifications include a frequency response of 86 Hz – 22 kHz (-3 dB) and 60 Hz – 22 kHz (-10 dB), with a total bi-amp power rating of 40 W. The IPD-SM500i-II is engineered with FerroFluid™ cooling on the tweeter to maintain performance under continuous use. The speaker is UL 60065 listed and finished with a powder-coated aluminum grille in black.
Connectivity is handled over a single CAT5 or CAT6 cable via an RJ45 Ethernet connector for power, audio, and control. The speaker is Dante-addressable for integration into Dante-enabled systems and reports status and diagnostics back to SoundTube software. For systems without PoE, a 24V DC barrel connector provides alternative powering.
This surface-mount speaker is suitable for paging, background music, foreground music, and speech reinforcement in retail, hospitality, transit, and corporate environments. Its BroadBeam® waveguide maintains consistent dispersion up to 10 kHz to maximize coverage and reduce the number of speakers required. The low profile design keeps the loudspeaker close to the wall to minimize visual impact.
Installation is simplified by the detachable mounting plate that can be pre-mounted to walls or poles and by the included safety cable and wall mount bracket. The rugged ABS enclosure and tamper-resistant mounting hardware support reliable long-term installations. System configuration and zoning are managed through SoundTube software for fast commissioning and remote diagnostics.
