Description
The SoundTube IPD-SM500i-II is a Dante addressable coaxial surface-mount speaker designed for networked audio distribution and installed sound applications. It integrates a 5.25 in polypropylene woofer and a 1.0 in titanium tweeter into a low-profile, glass fiber reinforced ABS enclosure. The speaker supports low latency digital audio and networked power delivery for simplified deployments.
Key features include Dante I/O over a single CAT5/CAT6 connection and BroadBeam waveguide dispersion for even coverage up to 10 kHz. The speaker is powered via PoE/PoE+ or an optional 24V DC barrel connector when PoE is not available. SoundTube supplies the Stealth bracket mounting system for unlimited directional aiming and tamper-resistant placement.
Performance specifications include a frequency response of 86 Hz – 22 kHz at -3 dB and 60 Hz – 22 kHz at -10 dB. The IPD-SM500i-II provides a bi-amp power capacity of 40 W and a specified maximum SPL of 197.0 dB at 1 m. The coaxial design features a 5.25 in woofer and a 1.0 in convex tweeter with FerroFluid cooling for thermal stability under load.
Connectivity is via an RJ45 Ethernet connector carrying Dante audio, power, and control over standard category cable. The speaker is compatible with SoundTube STNet-Switch or other industry standard PoE/PoE+ switches and reports status and faults using SoundTube configuration software. For non-PoE installations the unit accepts 24V DC input through a barrel connector.
The IPD-SM500i-II is suitable for background music, paging, and distributed audio in retail, hospitality, corporate, and education environments. Its BroadBeam waveguide and coaxial driver ensure consistent coverage across listening areas while minimizing the number of installed units. The low profile enclosure and included safety cable support clean, secure installations where aesthetics matter.
Installation is streamlined with the detachable premount plate for wall or pole mounting and the Stealth bracket for horizontal and vertical aiming. The aluminum powder-coated grille and UL 60065 listing assure a rugged and compliant installation. Configuration and zoning are accomplished via SoundTube software to match system architecture and operational requirements.
