Description
The KD-4KWHCEX is a wireless HDMI extender kit that transmits UHD 4K video signals over 5 GHz Wi-Fi. It is designed to extend HDMI sources up to 100 ft under typical conditions and up to 164 ft in ideal line-of-sight environments. The kit includes a transmitter and receiver engineered for compact installation and simple connectivity.
This extender supports up to 18 Gb/s bandwidth and delivers visually lossless compressed video with HDR10 support. It handles up to 12-bit 4:4:4 at UHD 4K30 and 8-bit 4:4:4 at UHD 4K60, and it is HDCP 2.2 authenticated for protected content. The system also provides TMDS re-clocking and signal regeneration at the transmitter to maintain signal integrity.
Audio compatibility includes lossless and compressed Dolby and DTS formats with support for multichannel and 2-channel audio across the wireless link. HDMI pass-through on the transmitter allows a local monitor or AV receiver connection while the receiver provides the remote HDMI output. Latency is specified at approximately 100 ms which balances quality and synchronization for typical AV use.
Connectivity includes HDMI inputs and outputs on both transmitter and receiver plus IR pass-through via 3.5 mm IR sensor and emitter connections. Firmware updates are performed via USB-C ports on both units. Power is supplied to each unit via 5 VDC 2 A barrel adapters.
Use cases include temporary events, retrofits, and installations where running new cabling is impractical or prohibited. The point-to-point system can be paired with up to four sets using unique channels to reduce onsite interference. Its 5 GHz operation helps reduce congestion and improves wall and ceiling penetration compared with lower frequencies.
Installation is straightforward with low-profile enclosures, mounting brackets, and included antennas to optimize placement. The units are engineered for commercial operating ranges and include TMDS re-clocking to preserve HDMI signal timing. Overall, the kit provides a practical wireless extension solution for delivering 4K HDR content where cabling is not possible.
