The Ki Pro Rack is a 1RU file-based recorder and player designed to capture ready-to-edit Apple ProRes and Avid DNxHD files. It records 10-bit full raster video to removable KiStor modules and supports rollover recording across two media bays. This unit is built to streamline transitions from tape-based to file-based workflows while preserving broadcast image quality.
Key features include multi-format recording, hardware up/down/cross-conversion, and dual KiStor media bays with built-in Ki Protect. The Ki Pro Rack supports SDI, HDMI, component analog video, AES and balanced XLR audio, plus LTC, RS-422, and reference inputs. The embedded web server allows configuration, clip selection and transport control via a standard browser and Ethernet file transfer for fast media moves. Closed captioning CEA-708/608 is recognized from SDI and encoded into recorded ProRes files.
The Ki Pro Rack fits rackmount environments with a compact 1RU chassis, dual redundant power supplies, and support for long-form recording via media rollover. RS-422 control enables integration with edit systems and VTRs for machine-to-machine transfers and assemble edits. The front panel status display and simple transport buttons make operation quick to learn for users familiar with tape decks.
