Description
The M4LT-EX is a line-level surge suppressor that combines AC surge protection with telephone and Ethernet line filtration. It is designed to protect home and office AV, networking, and telephony equipment from transient over-voltages and noise. The unit exceeds UL safety standards and incorporates solid-state protection for signal lines.
Key features include four transformer-spaced AC outlets, solid-state telephone line protection, and solid-state Ethernet line protection. The unit includes a DSL phone line splitter and accepts add-on signal line modules to expand protection. A patented power management circuit and Protect or Disconnect™ circuitry enhance device safety.
Performance specifications include a voltage protection rating of 500V and a single pulse energy dissipation rating of 1650 Joules. Response time is < 1ns and the unit provides EMI/RFI noise filtration of 50 dB across 100 KHz - 1 MHz. Maximum current rating is 15 A (1800W) and the initial clamping level is 200V peak / 141V RMS.
Connectivity covers both LAN and telco lines – RJ-45 connectors protect pins 1-8 and are compatible with 10/100/1000 BASE-T (CAT 5e). Telco protection uses RJ-11 connectors for the 2-wire pair on pins 3 and 4 and offers fuseless auto-resettable protection. Clamping levels are 62V for LAN and 260V for telco lines.
This unit is suitable for protecting cable modems, routers, VoIP adapters, network switches, telephones, and AV components in residential and small office environments. It also provides lightning protection and thermal fusing for improved reliability. The right-angle 45 degree offset plug reduces stress behind furniture and equipment racks.
Installation is straightforward thanks to an 8 ft fixed power cord and standard AC outlet compatibility at 120VAC 50/60Hz. The unit is built with thermal fusing and a patented power management circuit to protect downstream equipment. Solid-state line protection and transformer-spaced outlets balance safety and practical connectivity for compact installations.
