Description
The M5400-PM is a rack-mount power distribution unit that provides voltage regulation and advanced surge protection for AV systems. It delivers consistent, regulated 120 VAC output to sensitive components to reduce picture and sound artifacts. The unit is built to prolong equipment life and maintain stable system performance.
Key features include Level 4+ power cleaning and filtration, AVM automatic voltage monitoring, and five isolated outlet banks to prevent cross-contamination between components. Two high-current outlets accommodate amplifiers and subwoofers while four switched outlets and five always-on outlets allow flexible device management. The front-panel voltmeter and status indicators display incoming line voltage and protection state.
Voltage regulation supports Banks 1-4 with 1500 VA / 12 A capacity and an output range of 120 VAC ± 6 VAC. The unit operates from 100-136 VAC input and uses buck and boost stages to maintain regulated output across the input range. Surge suppression is rated UL1449 330V with 72,000 A peak impulse current and 2125 Joules of energy dissipation.
Connectivity includes a 10 ft detachable power cord, RJ-45 LAN surge protection for 10/100bT, RJ-11 telco protection, and shielded coax protection with female F connectors supporting 0 MHz – 2.2 GHz. A front USB-A charger provides 500 mA @ 5VDC for small devices while a 3.5mm DC trigger input and pass-through trigger output enable integrated power sequencing. The unit also features a gaming LAN front port for easy access.
Typical applications include home and commercial AV racks, media rooms, and small broadcast or post facilities where stable power, noise filtration, and surge protection are required. It is suitable for protecting source components, displays, processors, and amplifiers in systems where clean AC and sequenced power-up are important. The isolated banks ensure noise from one component does not degrade others.
The M5400-PM installs in a standard 2RU rack space and includes rack ears for mounting. Front-panel controls and automatic AVM reconnect simplify operation while thermal fusing and catastrophic surge circuitry improve safety. The product is constructed for reliable long-term use and straightforward integration into existing AV racks.
