Description
The MFX-12MC-B is a 12 inch multi-functional coaxial two-way monitor designed for live sound and short-throw full-range reinforcement. It provides a compact low-profile cabinet that preserves sight lines while delivering clear stage reference and FOH coverage. The monitor combines a coaxial driver with a constant directivity waveguide to control coverage across the mid and high frequencies.
Key features include a rotatable coverage pattern that changes between 60° x 40° FOH and 40° x 60° monitor orientation, a passive/biamp switch, and built-in NL4 input plus loop-through connectors. The speaker offers factory DSP presets to optimize performance for monitoring or FOH roles. The rugged Baltic plywood enclosure and EVCoat finish are engineered to withstand tour and installation use.
Performance highlights include a frequency response of 62 Hz to 18 kHz (-3 dB), a maximum SPL of 135 dB, and an axial sensitivity of 97 dB at 1 W/1 m. Power handling is rated at 450 W continuous with 3000 W peak capability, supporting high output duties and reliable transient response. The coaxial transducer model is CXCA3128-1CA which helps maintain coherent phase and improved feedback resistance on stage.
Connectivity is straightforward with a Neutrik NL4 input and NL4 pass-through on a recessed rear panel that protects connectors in live settings. A passive/biamp selector allows quick configuration changes for systems with external crossovers or amplifiers. The integrated pole cup and four M10 suspension points support a wide range of mounting and rigging accessories for both flown and pole-mounted deployments.
Typical use cases include stage monitors for vocalists and instruments, short-throw FOH speakers for compact venues, and front/side fill duties in larger systems. The speaker can be paired with subwoofers for extended low-frequency output or used alone for full-range coverage in smaller rooms. Its rotatable driver assembly and waveguide shape ensure consistent coverage whether used horizontally or vertically.
Installation and handling are simplified by two ergonomic handles that include a standard 35 mm pole cup and a low-profile cabinet that maintains stage sight lines. The grille is zinc plated steel with a corrosion resistant coating to protect the coaxial assembly under heavy use. Factory amp presets and recommended amplifier matches speed system setup and tuning for rental and permanent installs.
