Description
The Electro-Voice MFX-15MC-B is a 15 inch passive coaxial monitor speaker engineered for stage monitoring and short-throw full-range reinforcement. It combines a 15in woofer and a 3in compression driver in a coaxial alignment to deliver phase-accurate output. The low-profile enclosure preserves sight lines while providing robust audio performance.
The MFX-15MC-B offers 500W continuous power handling and a 3500W peak capability for demanding live applications. Its rotatable 60×40 coverage horn supports consistent directivity and stable imaging even when the performer is off-axis. The speaker achieves a maximum 136 dB SPL measured at one meter, suitable for high-output stage environments.
Frequency response covers 52 Hz to 18 kHz (-3 dB) with extended reach to 45 Hz to 19 kHz at -10 dB. Sensitivity is 97 dB which, combined with high power handling, provides strong dynamic headroom. The coaxial driver layout ensures time-aligned acoustic output for improved clarity and intelligibility.
Connectivity is straightforward with NL4 speakON input and NL4 loop-through connectors recessed into the rear panel to protect cable terminations. A passive/bi-amp switch allows quick configuration for passive operation or separate LF/HF amplification. The design accepts a standard pole mount and supports common stage mounting accessories.
Typical applications include stage wedges for musicians, FOH short-throw reinforcement in small venues, and installs in houses of worship or theaters requiring compact high-output monitors. The speaker is appropriate for rental inventory where reliability and transportability are required. Its rotatable horn and pole-mount capability enable flexible deployment across venues.
Built from baltic birch plywood with a durable EV Coat finish and a powder-coated steel grille, the MFX-15MC-B is designed for road use and permanent installs. The recessed input panel and side handles simplify rigging and protection during transport. The overall design balances durable construction, serviceability, and sonic performance for professional AV use.
